Cognitive behaviour therapy is a form of psychotherapy which helps you recognise
and change any unhelpful thoughts which may be contributing to you feeling stressed,
anxious or upset.
Cognitive behaviour therapy is helpful for a range of emotional problems including
depression and anxiety disorders.
The aim of CBT is to enable you to become your own therapist. During the CBT sessions
the therapist helps you to understand the nature of your difficulties, and will then
guide you in developing the skills to be able to change some of the processes of
your problem so that you can manage it more effectively and eventually overcome it.
Michelle is a Qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist accredited with the British
Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
Appointments for CBT are available in Derby on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and
